In civil disputes, we represent private individuals mainly against other private individuals. This might, for example, concern disputes on inheritance or custody of a child. Before we initiate proceedings in a civil dispute at court, we review the prospects with you and decide how to organise our case. We always conduct proceedings in your interest and the focus is on you as client. We help you apply for legal aid when possible, when means that you or your insurance company pay part of your legal costs.
In criminal cases, we act both as defence counsel and as injured party counsel. As defence counsel, we defend the person accused of a crime. All people accused of crime have a right to a defence counsel and we at Lagerlöf & Partners accept assignments as defence counsel regardless of what you are accused of. At the court, you, the accused, sit beside your defence counsel. As accused, you should be able to trust your lawyer and rely on us presenting your action and conducting your defence in the best way. As injured party counsel, you, as injured party, sit between the prosecutor and the injured party counsel. As injured party counsel, we represent you, the crime victim. The prosecutor conducts the state’s action against the accused while we, as injured party counsel, conduct your action as victim of crime. This may include a claim for damages.
